Meatballs

Looks so fancy but is quick and easy!

This is a go to meal in our house. One pound of ground beef, a jar of good quality marinara, and cheese. I happened to have some basil to top it off! Fresh herbs are really worth their cost in flavor and health benefits!

You will need:

1 lb ground beef ( you could use chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, or a combo)

1 egg

oregano

garlic fresh ( 1 clove minced) or 1 teaspoon dried powder

Jar of Marinara

Optional: Here I used BURRATA cheese YUM & fresh basil chopped! You could use mozzarella, parmesan, fontina….

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl put the beef, an egg, and spices. Mix with a fork or your hands, don’t over mix just incorporate everything. I rolled a 1/2 cup of ground mix in my hands and placed in a glass baking dish an inch apart. Pour marinara over the meatballs. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes. Meatballs should be 165 degrees in the middle. I quickly placed in a bowl with quartered Burrata cheese. It is mozzarella filled with ricotta cheese. It begins to get oozy in the hot marinara. Sprinkle some basil on top and ready do serve. It would be great with crusty bread if you eat bread.
