Broccoli is a staple in our household. I do get sick of steamed broccoli, even with a yummy side of mayonnaise. Lately, I have been slicing the whole head of broccoli top to bottom including a large portion of the stem 1/4 of an inch thick. I lay them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. I drizzle high heat oil over the broccoli and either chili pepper or red chili pepper flakes. If you are in the mood for HOT add the flakes ( red chili peppers or Gochujang Korean dried flakes). For more depth of flavor with a slight bit of heat add chili pepper ( the kind you add to homemade chili).
Other additions: garlic powder, cumin, a thin layer of mayonnaise mixed with parmesan, yogurt mixed with turmeric/garlic/cumin/or curry powder, or simply salt and pepper.
